I want to make sure that all Learning 2.0 attendees are aware of this year's $2M HASTAC/MacArthur Digital Media and Learning Competition. http://www.dmlcompetition.net , http://twitter.com/dmlComp , deadline October 15, 2008.

We are piloting limited international eligibility for our Innovation in Participatory Learning award, and the CHINA is one of twelve countries from which we can't accept applications without a partner. Other eligible countries include Canada, India, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands,Nigeria, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States. While we can only accept primary applicants from these countries, application team members and collaborators can be from anywhere in the world.

I hope that if you have appropriate projects, you will consider applying!

Participatory learning is defined broadly: using new digital media for sharing ideas or planning, designing, implementing, or just discussing ideas and goals together.

The second HASTAC/MacArthur Digital Media and Learning Competition is now open!

Awards will be made in two categories:

Innovation in Participatory Learning Awards support large-scale digital learning projects
$30,000-$250,000

This year we are piloting international eligibility for our Innovation Award and will be accepting submissions from primary applicants in Canada, People's Republic of China, India, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands,Nigeria, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States; collaborators can befrom anywhere in the world.

$5,000-$30,000
